The construction industry is responsible for just over 50% of all CO2 emissions, yet despite all the talk about sustainability, circular carbon economy and net zero targets, the construction industry needs to be disrupted across the whole supply chain so its impact on climate change is reduced as soon as possible. The approach of smart modular construction and the move towards sustainable and cognitive cities offers this potential disruption that might save the planet. We need to go back to basics and rethink what is sustainability all about and why is humanity failing to reverse the damage caused by global warming.
