This workshop on sustainability in the battery value chain will explore the impacts of battery production, use and disposal. We will also discuss the best practices and innovations in materials and process selection, alternative chemistries and end-of-life approaches such as second-life and recycling.
The workshop will take place on 7th February at 14:00 at CENIMAT/i3N (FCT-NOVA). It will have the participation of four speakers who will share their insights and experiences on different aspects of the battery life cycle.
The program is as follows:
14:00 - Welcome & Introduction
14:10 – Sam Mousavi (VTT, Finland): Sustainable next-generation batteries
14:50 – José Gonçalves (CENTI, Portugal): Flexible and sustainable batteries: A lab-to-pilot perspective
15:30 – Coffee break
15:50 – Silvia Bodoardo (POLITO, Italy): Sustainable battery cells – European overview (TBC)
16:30 – João Gomes (B.Again – DST Group, Portugal): Lithium-Ion Battery recycling processes: enabling circularity of the battery value-chain
